The Advisory Board is the backbone of the Foundation, guiding it through as it organize and establish itself as a successful on going think tank with a purpose and management consulting organization. Rami Abdulhadi

Dr. Rami Abdulhadi
, is a Palestinian with over 40 years of professional experience in urban planning and development.Holder of a PhD in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, M.SC in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and B.Sc in Aeronautical and Astronomical Engineering all from the University of Illinois- Urbana Champaign campus.
Since 1984 Dr. Rami held the position of Director, Team leader, Co-Project Director, Project Coordinator and Institutional and Capacity Building at the Center for Engineering and Planning in Ramallah providing Strategic Development Framework for the City of Ramallah (SDF 2014-2035).
In addition Dr. Rami as Team Leader was responsible for the Evaluation and Update Phase and Implementation Plan (SDIP) in Cluster 04 Cycle II for 11 municipalities working in support of selected municipalities in monitoring, evaluation and updating their SDIP. The work includes assisting municipality staff in preparing the planned annual expenditures foe departments, preparing the needed documents for the preparation phase, advising departments on fund raising approach and evaluating implementation of the SDIP components. Beneficiaries of such support included among others cities and town such as Al Zaytouna, Silwad, Deir Debwan, East Bani Zeif, Jericho (2012-20130 and Marj Ebn Amer, A’rruna, Faqqua, Deir Ab- Daif, Jalbun, AlJamla, Abu- Ash, Sharqiya and Arabbuna (2011-2012).
Dr. Rami was also the principal contributor to the Master Plan for the State of Palestine- Suggested Guidelines for Comprehensive Development both as Principal Author and Editor. Dr. Rami appeared in several international documentaries related to the ever-expanding Israeli settlements.

Ala Ali

Ala Ali is a women’s rights and peace activist, with over seventeen years’ experience working in civil society in Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region. Ala has substantial experience managing and administering programs funded by UN agencies and other international donors. In her seventeen years’ experience, Ala has acquired skills, expertise and knowledge in multiple sectors, including: building partnerships and coalitions for the purpose of peacebuilding; conflict transformation; and social cohesion and democratization in a transitioning context. Recognizing that a successful transition out of conflict requires collaboration and understanding, Ala is specialist in conflict analysis, peace-building strategies and organizational democracy. Ala has been a member of the Iraqi al-Amal Association since 1995, and was elected to the board of trustees in 2008 and 2012. In addition her work at UNDP-Iraq as Community Mobilization Expert, Ala has served as Iraq Program Coordinator with the Olof Palme International Center, Senior Regional Program Officer with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), Peacebuilding Consultant with the UN Development Program, and Country Manager for the Institute of International Education. Ala holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master in Business Administration/MBA and a Master of Arts in Conflict Transformation from the Eastern Mennonite University-Center for Justice and Peace. Antelak Mohammed AbdulMalek. Al-Mutawakel

Antelak Almutawakel is a co- founder of Youth Leadership Development Foundation (YLDF) and has been the Chairperson of YLDF Administrative Board since 2001 and recently 2011 she has resigned to give another board member the opportunity to lead the NGO and make a democratic role model system for Yemeni civil society organizations. YLDF was founded in 1998 has become one of the prominent and accountable CSOs in Yemen.
Dr. Antelak brings more than 20 years experience in working in Education, Youth and Gender in private, public and governmental sectors. In the private sector she is a co-founder one of the early kindergarten in Yemen (Ahlam Al’Asafeer & Leaders School). She has great interest in civil society and played several roles in the growth of Yemeni civil society particularly those working in education, youth and gender aiming to make positive change in society. She is a co-founder of several civil society coalitions and Networks such as Waten and Shima.
Dr. Antelak is an academic person who has been working as assistant teacher at Sana’a University lecturing at the English Literature Department and at the Gender-Development Research and Studies Center (GDRSC). She has been very much interested in promoting women’s situations particularly in Yemen. She holds a PhD from Tilburg University, Holland in Gender and Literature. She is a co-founder of the Master program in International Development and Gender (MIDG) at the GDRSC- Sana’a University and the director of the Higher Study Dept. from 2005-2012. Believing in democracy Dr. Antelak has left her post as the head of High Study and director of the Master program to be a lecturer of one of the courses in the program ” Socio-Cultural Dynamics of Development” and an advisor of the Advising Board of the GDRSC.
Dr. Antelak was an active member in the Community Coalition for Effective Participation of Women in the National Dialogue and the Transitional Period and a member of the National Dialogue (Freedoms & Rights Team) that aims to draw the constitution of New Yemen. In the NDC Dr. Antelak was one of the civic components that played a leading & effective role in the draw of new Democratic Yemen and the negotiation of the current power conflicts. In March 2014 she was selected as a member of the constitution drafting committee working for 9 months in the Yemeni new constitution. Recently due to the civil war in Yemen she is active in the process of peace building. she is a member of Women’s Pact for Security and Peace and a member of Peace Women’s Partners.

Chief of Dental Services Saad Specialist Hospital AlKhobar KSA 2013-2015. Consultant oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Saad Specialist Hospital AlKhobar KSA 2008 to-date. Member of editorial board Smile Dental Magazine.I was born in Nabuls, Palestine, and spent my childhood and early life in Tulkarm Palestine, and finished my high school in 1987 from Alfadilyah Secondary School. This gives me a lot of pride as this school is one of the eldest and most prestigious schools in Palestine. Following that move to Jordan to study at Jordan University in Amman, just after I left to Jordan the first intifada started. In 1992 I graduated from Jordan University and moved to UK to get my specialisation. I completed my training in 1998 and moved back to Palestine. I worked at Makaased Hospital at Mount Olive in Jerusalem and at AlQuds University. In the year 2000, the 2nd intifada started I witnessed all its events, treated hundreds of Palestinian casualties in many different hospital all over Palestine. I was also actively involved in charity and volunteer work to treat patients especially in missions to treat patients with congenital deformities and clefts. Moved to KSA in 2008 to work at Saad Specialist Hospital in the Eastern Province where I am still working until now. I actively participate in medical conferences held in the Middle East by giving lectures and doing workshops. My main ambition is to continue giving support to my people and to see my children grow safely in Palestine and to give them the best education to serve their country and people.

Khaled Almaeena

Khaled Almaeena is a founder and Co – Chairperson of NAAM ASSOCIATION. He has held a broad range of position in Saudi media for thirty years, including CEO of a PR Firm, Saudi Television news anchor, talk show host, radio announcer and journalist. As the Editor-in-Chief of Arab News, the largest English- language newspaper in the Middle EAST, Almaeena steered the paper through the Gulf Crisis and pioneered bringing the newspapers back to a liberated Kuwait. Under his direction, the paper was first in 2003 to send a Saudi reporter to Iraq to report extensively from the front lines. As a journalist, Almaeena has represented Saudi Media at Arab summits in Baghdad , Morocco and elsewhere. In 1990, he was one of four journalists to cover historic resumption of diplomatic ties between Saudi Arabia and Russia. He also traveled to China as part of this diplomatic mission. Highly regarded for his views, Almaeena’s political and social columns appear in Gulf News – Dubai, Asharq Al-Awsat, Al-Eqtisadiah, Arab News, Times of Oman, Asian Age, Al Arabia , Makkah and the China Post. His interest in sports attracted him to the successful promotion of squash and tennis tournaments in the Kingdom. In 1982, Almaeena became the Editor-in-Chief of Arab News. He stepped down in 1993 to head the Saudi Public Relations Company (SRPC) a position he held for five years. He returned to the top editor’s post of Arab News in 1998 and continued until October 2011. In 2012, He has joined as the Editor in Chief of Saudi Gazette, English daily published from Jeddah and continued in the position until the end of 2014. Almaeena was educated in several countries, including the United States, Britain and Pakistan. He is fluent in English, Arabic and Urdu.

August 31 Participated in the military action to overthrow former dictator’s regime in 2003, serve in 101 ARMY.Participated in the political process in Iraq from 2003 to 2006.Writer, and a speech maker at the present time on the Iraqi, and Middle Eastern affairs.Executive Director of the “ Iraqi Center for Dialogue” advocating for civil society ,Peace, and supporting youth & women leadership,Public relations, Crises Management during and after war.

Mr Hassan AlKhazraji

Mr Hassan ALKhazraji, born in Geneva, Switzerland, from an Iraqi father and a Swiss mother. He speaks French, English and Arabic. He possesses a Master of Arts (International Relations) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva (2008) and a Master in Law from the University of Lausanne (2010), Switzerland. He is currently completing the International Diploma in Compliance taught by the University of Manchester (UK).
Mr ALKHAZRAJI has acted as representative of many Arab NGOs in the United Nations in Geneva since 2008, such as the Union of Arab Jurists, the Arab Lawyers Union and others. He then served as legal officer in international organisations such as the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the International Labor Office (ILO). Confronted with the lack of discussion about fundamental topics within these institutions, he decided to go back to the civil society world and to join the executive committee of Geneva International Centre for Justice (GICJ), a Swiss based NGO whose aims are to promote and defend human rights in Iraq, the Middle East and the Arab world, with the paramount objective of putting an end to the impunity that prevail in that region.

Mr Abdullah Al Nasser

Mr Abdullah Al Nasser,Researcher, Founder, and General Manager of Aftercare Center (Edmaj) for released inmates. With over 20 years of experience as a researcher, Mr. Al Nasser has focused his research on prison reform, marginalized groups, and released inmates and reintegration into the society. In conducting his research, Mr. Al Nasser adopts field studies research pattern based on observation and cohabitation to identify realities and problems. With his depth of experience, he has also passionately advocated for inmates rights issues, through Media and lobbying decision makers. Recognizing that better legislations and enabling environment for reintegration go hand in hand, Al Nasser has worked hard to improve both.
AL Nasser is the author of two books entitled: “Prisons community in Jordan” which inspects prison and prisoner’s culture, and “Shock Release and Reintegration into the Society’, which came to examine the reality and challenges released prisoners encounter to reintegrate into the society.
Al Nasser worked as a researcher with Noor Al Hussein foundation on assessing local community needs. He has also worked with the Arab thought Forum as researcher and debater on interfaith and European-Arab Dialogue. Mr. Al Nasser started his career as a lecturer at the Royal Police Academy on topics pertaining to prison reform for police officers from the Arab region. Al Nasser is a member of a number of associations including member of Steering Committee of the Middle East Partnership Initiative MEPI Alummni Network, member of the Democracy Regional Forum for Middle East & North Africa, and member of the International Alliance for the International Criminal Court..

Dr. Nafez Alyan

Dr. Nafez Alyan is a senior educational expert who specializes in operations and finance. For decades, Nafez has advised several clients from both the public and private sectors in a wide range of issues related to financing education, school budgeting, streamlining operations in the education sector, and finance reform. He played a key role in designing and building the Qatari Educational reform’s operational infrastructure, setting the rules and regulations of the finance department, and developing modern and efficient policies and procedures. As the Economic and Financial Advisor to the Minister of Finance in Qatar, Dr. Nafez led a major reform initiative to modernize, restructure, and streamline all key processes at the Ministry. He also developed the framework for funding ministries and public sector agencies based on a comprehensive performance system. Most recently, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for the United Arab Emirates University where he led a major overhaul of the University’s administrative and financial functions. In 2012, Dr Alyan established his consulting firm, NOVUS International Consultants, and undertook and lead projects commissioned by different public and private clients in the GCC region. Most of these projects focus on the education and higher education sectors. Dr Alyan Advised clients and offer recommendations on matters related to establishing priorities and strategic directions that fulfill their mandates, oversee implementation of developed strategies, and ensure alignment between operational tasks and strategic objectives. Recruit, mentor, and lead teams of highly qualified experts and consultants. Dr. Nafez holds a M.A. in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Sheffield in the UK, and a Ph.D. in Economics with a concentration in Finance, Labor Economics and Econometrics from the University of Oklahoma in the USA.

Majida Bargach

Majida Bargach was born and raised in Morocco. She obtained her education abroad, at the University of Bordeaux, France (Law and Economics for undergrad and Political science for graduate studies).Bargach immigrated with her family to the US in the summer 2000. In Spring 2001 she started teaching at UVa both in French and Arabic before accepting a full time lectureship position at the French Department. In 2002 she started the UVa study abroad program in Morocco. She was hired in June 2009 as Associate Director of the Center for international Studies and in May 2012 as Acting Director. From December 2013 to December 2015, she has been the inaugural Director of the Office of Global Internships and since November 2015 she’s the University of Virginia Director of Morocco Programs. From 2004 to 2009 Bargach has been visiting Professor at the University of Bordeaux for a winter seminar for the students of the Master of Comparative Studies. She served as interport Lecturer with Semester at Sea at several times from Alexandra, Egypt, Istanbul, Accra, and Barcelona to Casablanca. Bargach is regularly invited to lecture in different institutions on Migrations, Comparative Politics, and North African Politics and Cultures. Lena Alhusseini

Lena Alhusseini is the Executive Director of the Arab American Family Support Center in New York, and has previously served with global organizations such as USAID, UNICEF and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). She established the Jordan River Foundation’s child protection unit which was the first Middle East organization to address the issue of child abuse. She has also served with the Gateway Battered Women’s Shelter in Denver, Colorado. The White House and Obama Administration honored her in 2011 as a champion of change for her work with child protection, domestic violence and sex trafficking. She is the recipient of the 2007 Auburn Seminary Women of Commitment Award; “Brooklyn Women of Distinction” award by the Brooklyn Newspaper Group; Named “Extraordinary Woman 2008” by Kings County District Attorney’s Office; Global Woman leader by Womensphere; Womyn Warrior by Project Reach; Top 20 “Female Power Players” by Brooklyn Exposed. Ms Alhusseini has been recognized by The New York City Council as well as the National Arab American Medical Association. Ms. Alhusseini serves on the Board of Directors of Family Alliance and Family for Every Child; the Human Services Council of New York City; National Network of Arab American Communities; and the Greater Brooklyn Health Coalition. She was also appointed by the De Blasio Administration on the advisory committee of the The New York City Human Resources Administration/Department of Social Services (HRA/DSS). She has a Masters in Public Administration (NYU) and an MSc in Information Technology Engineering (Regis University).

Prepared the Master Plan Concept for Suez Canal Corridor Development Project – Egypt, including the Logistic Zones, Ports facilities, the Airport City, the Industrial Zones, the Internet City, the Financial Center, the Commercial City, the Residential City, the Health Care, the Academic, & the Sport Cities. Also, prepared the High Level Plan, including the establishment of the Authority, and the preparation of the master plan along with the business and marketing plans (2011).
Designed and deployed the ICT Master Plan of DWC – Dubai World Central, the World Largest Master-Planned Aerotropolis, which will propel Dubai’s economy into the future and will position Dubai as a leading Global Trade, Logistic, Business and Aviation Hub. The master plan was the first in the Middle East to deploy unified, unique and ubiquitous, Open Equal Access Network OEAN (2010).
Designed the ICT Infrastructure of Al Maktoum International Airport the World Largest Airport – and deployed Phase 1, with the capacity to handle 600,000 tonnes per annum and operates 24 hours a day on an A380-compatible, 4.5 km runway and a 66,000 square meter, single-level passenger terminal (2009).
Designed and deployed the Data Centers of the world’s number 1 airport for international passengers according to Airports Council International passenger numbers totaling 70 million in 2014. Dubai International Airport – Terminal-3 & Concourse-2 (2007).

Medhat El-Banna

Medhat El-Banna, The President of the Middle East and North Africa Forum at the International Court for Dispute Resolution. Medhat always identifies himself as ADR Expert (Alternative Dispute Resolution Expert), a professional Adjudicator, Arbitrator, Mediator, Negotiator, Peace Mediator and Peacebuilder. Well known for being a very good Negotiator. Since, June 2013 stopped to act as Arbitrator (with little exceptions) to devote more time to peace mediation, negotiation, and Peacebuilding. In addition to presiding the Middle East and North Africa Forum at the International Court for Dispute Resolution INCODIR (an UK registered entity), Medhat is the head of the board of directors of North Egypt Chamber for Dispute Resolution NECDR (Egyptian Registered Entity), he also the head of the Egyptian Branch of the Association for Young Mediators AYM (Main HQ in the UK), and the head of Egypt representative office at the Association for International Arbitration AIA (Main HQ in Belgium).

Fadi ElHusseini

Dr Fadi Elhusseini is a political Counselor. He is a commissioning editor at e-International Relations and he is an Associate Research Fellow (ESRC) at the Institute for Middle East Studies- Canada. Elhusseini holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Sunderland in Britain. Jauad El-Kharraz Dr. Jauad EL KHARRAZ joined the Middle East Desalination Research Center (MEDRC)[1], based in Muscat (Sultanate of Oman) as Director of Research on October 1st, 2015. Dr. EL KHARRAZ is in charge of delivering and developing a Research Program at that International Non-Profit Organization established to seek solutions to fresh water scarcity in the MENA region. Among other responsibilities, he manages and develops MEDRC research activities, and maintains and grow an expert-level network of technical, academic and policy specialists on a wide range of water issues. In addition, he will provide support to the development and delivery of training programs and consultancy projects. Dr. EL KHARRAZ has been information and projects manager at the Euro-Mediterranean Information System on know-how in the Water sector (EMWIS) Technical Unit based in Sophia Antipolis (France) for the last 11 years and half. He also worked as senior consultant for Sud-Convergences consultancy (France) in the period 2006-2008, and Expert Evaluator of the European Commission DG Research & Innovation. On the other hand, he is co-founder and General Secretary of the Arab World Association of Young Scientists (ArabWAYS), member of the Global Change Unit (University of Valencia, Spain). He is member of the Global Young Academy (GYA) that he represented in several occasions among others in the UN Disaster Risk Reduction Science & Technology group in Geneva. He was nominated in 2011 by the French Ministry of High Education & Research as representative at the Intergovernmental framework for EU Cooperation in Science & Technology (COST Action TN1301) in Brussels, where he led its Networking Working Group since end of 2011 in Vilnius (Lithuania). In 2014 he was nominated new leader for the tomorrow by Crans Montana Forum (Switzerland) and was also co-leader of the regional Think Tank WANA Forum (WANA Institute currently, Jordan). Dr. Jauad El Kharraz was one of 40 scientists worldwide selected to attend the “World Economic Forum ‘Summer Davos’ for New Champions” in Tianjin China in September 2012. He joined the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic by July 2014 and he became the founding curator (creator) of Nice’ hub (France) to push young talents from Nice develop projects of development for their local community. Ibrahim Fraihat

Ibrahim Fraihat, is a senior fellow in foreign policy at the Brookings Institution’s Doha Center and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University. He previously taught international conflict resolution at George Washington University and George Mason University. His research focuses on conflict resolution and post-conflict reconstruction in the Arab world, with a particular emphasis on conflict management and mediation, transitions, national reconciliation, national dialogue, and institutional reform. He has published extensively on Middle East politics, with articles appearing in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Financial Times, and the Christian Science Monitor, on the CNN and Al Jazeera websites, and elsewhere. Suaad Genem-Geroge is author of Self-Determination to the Palestinian Citizens of the State of Israel and International Law (2007).
